Jaguar and Land Rover’s InControl Remote is a premium digital service that enables drivers to control their car from anywhere in the world.
Five years on, the platform was outdated and needed a design and technology overhaul to improve the customer experience and create operational efficiencies.
Having launched Remote as a Wearable in previous years, we were well placed for this challenge. The big opportunity was to improve performance and the user experience to exceed customer expectations of these two iconic brands. The experience also needed to reflect the qualities of the new range of vehicles, from the Jaguar iPace to the Range Rover Velar.
What we did
Working closely with Jaguar Land Rover’s Connected Car team and selected partners, we redesigned and simplified the interface across both brands while continuously developing and testing with cars for real-time feedback.
Peace of mind and control were important experience principles. The interface gives a snapshot of the vehicle’s live status with actions like lock and unlock, or climate control, only one click away. Using new technology, we were also able to improve the way progress and feedback were communicated.
What we learned
Delivering a seamless end-to-end experience across multiple brands with different vehicles, features and unique variances in different global markets is a challenge. An integrated and empowered team was essential to ensure smooth communication and overcome complexity.
